Spirit Mound Trust
Our Mission
The Lewis and Clark/ Spirit Mound Trust is dedicated to the purchase, preservation, and restoration of Spirit Mound, one of the few remaining Missouri River landmarks visited by Captains Lewis and Clark on their historic journey of 1804-1806.
The Spirit Mound Trust has been working to restore Spirit Mound to the conditions Lewis and Clark experienced over 200 years ago, and to promote the beauty and history of Spirit Mound. The trust works closely with the South Dakota Department of Game, Fish and Parks.
